About McCarrick Bros

The company was founded by Arthur McCarrick in Athlone in 1945 and became McCarrick Bros Athlone when Conor McCarrick joined his brother soon afterwards. The company prospered operating a cash and carry business and a wholesale delivered business which covered the midlands and parts of Connacht and Leinster. A fruit packing range and a sparkling mineral water both under the Alpine brand name were run by the company for a period of time but didn't survive.

The Longford branch opened in 1971 and the brothers subsequently split the business in 1976 with Arthur taking Longford. The Athlone business later merged into another wholesale group while longford continues to trade as McCarrick Bros Longford now owned and run by Arthur's two sons, Joe and Pat.

We currently have 30 employees, 5 with over 35 years service and take seriously our corporate responsibility to our employees and local community.
